Successful advising of Fluhr Displays GmbH & Co.KG on its sale to the Chicken Trailer Group

Going-Concern Transaction in Insolvency Proceedings Safeguards Site and Employment

Transaction

SGP Corporate Finance successfully advised insolvency administrator Matthias Räupke of the law firm SGP Schneider Geiwitz & Partner in the M&A process of Fluhr Displays GmbH & Co. KG. The structured investor process met with strong market interest and attracted a large number of potential investors. Ultimately, the Chicken-Trailer Group prevailed and was awarded the transaction.

Approximately four months after the filing for insolvency, the future of Fluhr Displays GmbH & Co. KG has thus been secured. As of 1 January 2026, a company of the Chicken-Trailer Group acquired the long-established display manufacturer by way of an asset deal. In this manner, a significant portion of the jobs at the site was preserved. The acquisition provides a sustainable basis for the continuation of business operations under new ownership while simultaneously safeguarding existing customer relationships and enabling the company’s strategic further development.
“With the Chicken-Trailer Group, we have found a regionally rooted acquirer who understands the technological substance of Fluhr Displays and intends to develop it consistently further. My special thanks go to the employees, who made a decisive contribution to preserving the company through their great commitment during a challenging phase,” said Räupke.

About Fluhr Displays GmbH & Co. KG

Fluhr Displays GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Fischach (Bavaria), is a long-established company specializing in the development, production, and distribution of point-of-sale displays as well as merchandise, card, and presentation systems for brick-and-mortar retail. With many years of market presence, the company serves customers from a wide range of industries with tailor-made presentation solutions. Its value chain covers concept development, manufacturing, and delivery from a single source. Insolvency proceedings were initiated against the backdrop of challenging market conditions and cost structures which, taken as a whole, made sustainable continuation under the former setup difficult.

About the Chicken-Trailer Group

The Chicken-Trailer Group is owned by the Birle family from Schönebach and operates through Chicken-Trailer GmbH, which is active in the development and manufacture of mobile, semi-automated poultry housing systems.

Going forward, metal components and wire mesh products are to be manufactured at the Fischach site. The site will serve a dual function: alongside producing components for the group’s own agricultural systems, the Chicken-Trailer Group plans to continue and selectively further develop the existing display business under the Fluhr Displays brand.

Our Contribution to the Transaction

The Distressed M&A team of SGP Corporate Finance exclusively supported the insolvency administrator throughout the entire transaction process. The advisory services included structuring and executing the investor process, approaching and coordinating potential acquirers, and supporting negotiations through signing and closing. The successful transaction underscores SGP’s expertise in the field of distressed M&A.
